We Found Fall

Big Wind

One of the things I have been missing in Gifu, especially this time of year, are the trees. Gifu city is lacking in trees, especially the large full-size ones that are so impressive during the fall. As a result, I had felt as though I missed fall. It certainly got cooler, but I never had a chance to walk through the leaves. I hadn’t yet seen an impressive display of color. And, I began to feel like I had missed fall altogether and winter was well on it’s way.

Our weekend in Osaka gave me the fall that I had been craving. Fall colors, crunching leaves, and brisk air were all around and I soaked it up.

Fallen Leaves

I loved walking through the leaves as they crunched beneath my weight.

Japanese Maple

I loved seeing the brilliant Japanese maple leaves that I had heard so much about.

Brilliant Yellow

The yellows were awesome, as well.

Flowery Bump

And many of the places we visited had lovely fall flower beds too.

Now that I had a weekend filled with the sights, smells and sounds of fall, I feel like I am prepared for the winter that will be coming soon. It would have been a shame to have missed this season entirely.

Great photos! Fall with a different flavor, but still the most beautiful season.

Yeah, it is a totally beautiful season.

I guess this fall does have a bit of a different flavor, especially with the castles in the background. It is a good new flavor though, I like it!!
