I got a fan
One of the things I have been wanting since I came here was a really nice fan. It seems silly, really, back in the states I had often wondered at why the hell japan had this fan culture. It seemed ridiculous in my experience fans never really did that much good. However, when I got here I it was hot, like freakishly so.
If you have read our posts or talked to us while we were complaining about the heat, you may think you have a pretty good idea about the heat. You don’t. I don’t think i mentioned this before, but the gym during the hakubaisai was a hellish place. I kid you not there were people passing out from the heat. YOU NEED A FAN in this country.
Unfortunately, here in gifu the fans go out of the stores about mid summer. So by the time I got around to looking for one they were already gone. I had to wait until this weekend when we were in kyoto before I found a good selection again. So there it is. My new fan.
of course now that I bought a fan it no longer seems to be quite so hot. Oh well, I have it for next year.
