The Giant Buddha

Danielle and Giant Buddah

Having guests in town for the weekend inspired us to put together an itinerary of fun and interesting things to do with them. Not only did it insure that our guests (Bonnie and Sam) had a good time, it also gave us an excuse to get out and tourist around our city.

One of the things on the agenda was going to see the giant buddha in Gifu city. The Buddha is located near Gifu Park and is one of the three largest Buddhas in all of Japan. It was really quite spectacular!

In addition to the Giant Buddha, there were many smaller statutes that surrounded it.

And, there were many inscriptions on the wall as well.

All in all, it was a nice outing and a nice visit. Thank you Bonnie and Sam for stopping through Gifu and including us in your plans!

    Hi Kids:

What spectacular pictures. My computer is very slow, so I could not open all of them, but I certainly enjoyed what I did see. I am so happy for you for this great opportunity.

News from the U.S.A. Wim became a grandfather a couple of weeks ago and, of course, Aunt Jane, a great grandma! Little girl by the name of Payton Lynn.

    Love, Grandma
