Attack of the fish.

Warning sign

I just wanted to post this. It is a sign that was posted in the cabin we slept in in horado. Apparently, in small moutain towns they have a series of loudspeakers left over from WWII. Every morning (sometimes several times in the morning), noon, and evening these speakers burst to life with a series of chimes and some announcements. Very, very bizzare, and quite annoying to a camp full of JETs trying to sleep off last nights party.

At 6, 7, 8, and 9 o’clock, we got a friendly announcement about a test of earthquake alarm system happening at 11. I had wondered why one would need an earthquake alarm, I figgured they would be self identifying. The ground shakes, and obviously you think, “oh we are having an earthquake.”

However, I think this sign explains that mystery. There is an electrical dam just north of horado. In the case of an earthquake there may be a release of water, so get the hell out of the valley as fast as you can.

My favorite part of this sign is the fish. I think the fish is supposed to be yelling at the two people the get them to evacuate. However, I like to think that the fish, sensing the oncoming rush of water has taken to attacking the two fisher persons. If you think about it, this is the only explaination that makes sense. Why would the fish try to save the people who, given the fishing pole, were quite obviously just trying to take its life.

Just a thought.

Maybe they were planning on a catch and release.
