Live from Japan!

As Aaron said we have made it to Japan, after our lengthy journey. I am so tired that I am not going to say much today, except to give you a run down of our adventures. It was a very long journey.

5:15am (7/28) – I woke up in Chicago, just couldn’t sleep anymore.

6:45am – Made our way down to the hotel lobby. Took our luggage out of the storage room and sat around with fellow JET’s.

8:00am – Met with Mom and Mike for breakfast…yummy hotel continental breakfast.

9:15am – Arrived at O’Hare. Checked in, went through security, and sat at the gate for 3 HOURS!

12:15pm – Started boarding the plane. Take-off was smooth and the flight was decent. Spent about 12 and a half hours on the flight enjoying the Bourne Supremacy (I attempted watching it three times), ate terrible food, and slept as much as possible (only got a couple hours rest).

3:30pm (7/29 Japan Time) – Arrived in Tokyo. Had a safe landing, got off the plane. We had to go through immigration first (smooth sailing), then get our baggage (it was all there), and then we went through customs (no problem)! The only drag was when we lined up for the bus to the Tokyo hotel, so many JET’s and such a long line!

5:00pm – Got on the bus to Tokyo. Sat in traffic, surprisingly not as bad as some Chicago traffic that I have seen.

7:00pm – Arrived at Keio Plaza Hotel. Checked in and went up to our room. We’ll show pictures sometime soon. The room is beautiful and amazing. Great place to stay for a few days.

8:00pm – Met up with some new friends and went to find supper. Struggled our way through ordering our first dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Japan. Ended up with five orders of gyoza instead of just five individual gyoza. Our first miscommunication, certainly not our last.

9:50pm – Here we are, in our hotel room just getting ready to curl up in bed.
