More Deer Photos

Deer Face

Lest you think that all the deer in Nara are vicious attacking creatures, I thought I would post some photos of a few more benign deer. Having so many deer wandering around really gave Nara a particularly different and unique feel. Great place to visit, if you get the chance!

These pictures make me shudder. You can see the blood lust in their soulless, doll-like eyes.

Deer kill more people than any other animal. It’s chilling.

We have eroded deer habitat, we’re killing off their traditional food sources, and we hunt them for sport. It should come as no surprise that the deer have turned to humans to satisfy their bloodlust.

I, for one, welcome our new cervine masters!

Not soul-less eyes! These are the messengers of the gods, if they don’t have soul, I am not sure who (or what) does!!

You are definitely right about the habitat erosion. These deer had no chance of surviving without the little crackers that were being sold by vendors. They were so plentiful that the ground cover was virtually non-existent. In fact, in several areas they had fenced off spaces in order to allow new trees and plants to grow. I assume that they rotate these fenced off areas every now and then. Pretty crazy.
