Leaving Nystrom and vacation

Nystrom cartography as of the week I left

It has now been over a week since my last day at Nystrom. The last week was pretty packed with things to do, so I almost didn’t notice that I was no longer working. Now that I am starting my second week of unemployment, it has become more obvious that I am no longer employed at nystrom. It is certainly a weird thing. I became employed a couple of weeks after college (during which time I had jury duty, hardly a vacation). The longest that I have not had to work since has been just over a week.

Now I look forward to almost a month of vacation before we move to japan and start working there. Something new and exciting every day, before I have to get used to new and exciting in a new country. It should be pretty fun but also it is pretty intimidating. I hope I can manage.

I also can start looking back at Nystrom. I learned a lot there and met a lot of good people. I worked there for the defining first years of my adult life. In many ways working there helped to give me the confidence and skills I needed to do what I will be doing in japan. Thanks nystrom, and thanks to my coworkers there.
