Kentucky Fried Christmas
The big tradition here on Christmas is to go to Kentucky Fried Chicken. I have no idea how or why this tradition started, but I think it has something to do with the fact that they know that Westerners eat poultry on Christmas. Anyways, who were we to try to stray from tradition on our first Christmas in Japan. We went to KFC and enjoyed the fried chicken and now our arteries will probably need an entire year to recover from that attack. Anyways enjoy the photos!
Yep. There were two parking attendants at KFC to help direct the flow of traffic. Crazy!
Lining up for chicken. The entire restaurant was closed, except for the smoking section. They had pushed the chairs and tables against the walls to make room for the ever expanding queue.
You can’t order from the regular KFC menu on Christmas. They have a special holiday menu, of course.
Getting some KFC of our own.
Looks tasty!
And it is tasty. It was remarkable how much it tasted like the KFC I remembered. I haven’t had it in over ten years, I would imagine, but I still remembered that flavor and in Japan it was just the same. Kind of strange.
