Watch Out America…

…here we come!

Well, not for another three months, but I am still SUPER excited.

We just booked our tickets for our flight home! We will be coming for a visit on September 12th and leaving on September 27th. It will be a four-city tour where we try to hit all the people and places that we love and miss in just 14 days.

We will fly into Chicago and quickly make our way to Milwaukee where we will spend the first few days with my Dad’s side. After that, we will head over to Madison to spend some time with my Mom’s side and hanging in our old university town. Then we will head up to Minnesota for a few days with Aaron’s family before making our way down to Chicago. In Chicago we will spend some time with Aaron’s brother’s family and friends before we head back to Japan.

It is 97 days away, but I am so excited anyways. I can’t wait to come home and see everybody. I am already daydreaming of all the things I want to do….

  • Give snuggles to our newest niece and nephew (who we have yet to meet).
  • Drink good beer (Great Dane, Town Hall).
  • Go to Hot Doug’s.
  • Go clothes shopping in a store where most things will fit me.
  • Talk to someone on the street, randomly, in English.
  • Browse a bookstore where the majority of the books on hand are in English.
  • Play Bohnanza and Settler’s with Mara and Nate (you guys are the best to play with).
  • Sleep in a bed, a real live bed.
  • See and talk with all the family that we’ve been missing so much.
  • Go out on the town with the gang from Japanese, or what is left of it, which might just be Ben and Jill (but that’s ok, we can’t wait to hang with you guys).
  • Go out to eat a real, American breakfast.

    • The list could go on and on. I know it is only 14 days, but I am going to make damned sure that those 14 days are jam-packed with all the goodness that America has to offer. Can’t wait to see you all! Can’t wait to talk to you! Can’t wait to go out and have a good time! We all just have to wait 97 days!

      I think you like playing Settlers with us because you win so easily. Well, we have been practicing our cardsmanship since you left, we (by which I mean ‘I’) will not be quite such a pushover.

      You can not only sleep in a bed, but in, literally, your own bed since we are still storing it on the sleeping porch. And you can ride your old speedy, classy bikes, get to see fall colors turn first here, and how can you not want to eat at the Angry Trout? yummm. . . .

      So many good things to look forward to. We can’t wait!

      I would absolutely love a trip to the Angry Trout, and I may even consider ordering the shot of maple syrup after surviving more than a year of rationed syrup, but given our limited time (and high gas prices) it might be a bit difficult. We will have to see as time gets closer!

      I was sitting this morning and talking to aaron about all the places that I want to eat, and he looked at me and just said, doesn’t sound like we are going to eat in much. Probably not, I suppose. Although, I must say that an evening bbq at josh and jen’s with some shrimp and chicken wings will definitely be high on the list as well. I think I am hungry….
